My practice character drawings for ‘Dim Javis’ style, plus a fourth panel I excised because it worked in the regular comic but didn’t really fit the tone of the Garfield version.
In junior school I had a teacher that had some kind of psychotic fixation on trees being black. If you drew brown trees, you got a LOOK OUT OF THAT WINDOW, SEE THOSE TREES? WHAT COLOUR ARE THEY? BLACK! rant and sometimes a hard slap with a ruler if the mood took him.
Ok apparently this week’s Dumm comic isn’t showing up for a lot of people (I can see it, which just compounds the problem), so here it is in all it’s uh, glory. And a bonus flashback ‘newspaper’ version too, you lucky dogs.
Here’s a better look at the fake comic covers I drew for Dumm this week as like a recap of the story so far. I decided to draw these the day before the comic went live, like an idiot.
Here are the paintings I did for last week’s Dumm comic, a Swifty one I didn’t use, and a weird one to use up leftover paint.
